We are a state approved Supplemental Educational Services provider for the Genesee Intermediate School District.

To qualify for free tutoring at the Learning Center Southwest Flint you must be eligible for the free lunch program and attend one of the following Flint schools:

• Beecher High School (grades 9-12)

• Hamady (grades 7 -12)

• McKinley Foundation Academy (grades 7-8)

• Northern High School (grades 9 -12)

• Northwestern High School (grades 9-12)

All SES tutoring is done at our location in the Yorkshire Plaza on Miller Road.  Students must provide their own transportation.

To enroll in the program, the parent and student must sign a request form.  These forms are available in the school offices or may be picked up here at the Learning Center.  You can also call us at 810-733-0740, and we will mail the form to you.

After Flint Community Schools approves the student for tutoring, we will contact you to set up a time to evaluate the student.  The evaluation is not timed, but takes about two hours to complete.  Discussing the results and developing a learning plan add another thirty minutes to the appointment.
